Lauren's Senior Portrait

Lauren is a graduating senior at UGA. She wanted some portraits to include in her graduation announcements. I photographed her the university campus.

About me:

I'm a photographer - not just by profession, but also by passion. I've always been a photographer at heart and have albums of my photos since I was in the third grade! I was formally trained on a manual Nikon F. I started out shooting exclusively black and white film and spending hours in the darkroom printing my photos. Now I work entirely in digital, I shoot with professional Canon equipment and I do all my processing on the computer. But the more things change, the more they stay the same. Photography remains my passion and takes up most of my time. When work is fun, life is great!

About my photographic style:

Weddings: I love weddings. To me, they represent the best of life - love, family & friends - all coming together in celebration. I am honored to be an integral part of your day, and to capture it for you to enjoy forever. I am a ‘people person’ so I’m more than just a fly on the wall at your wedding. Nevertheless, my intent is to remain unobtrusive and allow the day to flow smoothly and naturally. When appropriate, I may occasionally suggest a better angle or better light to get a beautiful photo, but I will not interrupt a personal moment. Photographs are memories. I want you to look at your wedding photos and be taken back to that moment in time. My goal is to give you the opportunity to re-live your day over and over again.

Casual portraits: I think that portrait sessions should be fun and relaxing. I prefer to take portraits outside or in your home. I photograph individuals, graduating seniors, families, children, and even pets. I take plenty of time and capture your unique style. When I photograph children, I get on the floor and play with them. I let them have fun in front of the camera and it shows in the resulting photographs. Adults are often surprised at just how much fun they have and how quickly they forget about the camera.

Events: I photograph events other than weddings including but not limited to holiday parties, corporate events, birthday parties and even golf tournaments. I always take candid photos of guests laughing and having fun. I also get photos of the details of the event, such as flowers, buildings, and other decorations. In addition to those photographs, I make a point of getting people who are already talking to give me a quick smile for a nice picture.

Performance: I photograph bands playing live in concert. I also photograph dancers, dramatic groups, and other performing artists. In addition to capturing the performance, I also take press or promotional photos for these artists.
