A Halloween Treat

Happy Halloween! I thought it fitting that I show some photos I took at a graveyard for my Halloween post.

A few weeks ago, I had a "day at the playground" for wedding photographers! I joined some fellow photographers on a photo shoot in The Oakland Cemetery with some awesome models. The ladies had their hair and make-up done by Scooby West. With none of the pressures of a wedding day to slow us down, we were able to get creative and have fun. Here's what I got...

Thanks to Amber, Daniel, Lindsey, Kendall, Kris, Laura, and Julie for modeling.

Shout Out to A-Train

Today's blog post is a shout out to a fellow member of The Athens Wedding Professionals.  Athens's A-Train Band is a five-piece instrumental group with a female vocalist.  They do swing, jazz, ballads, latin, boogie, blues and some other styles upon request.

A good band makes for a great reception, so I like to recommend these guys whenever possible!
(See the wedding they were playing at in this post.)

Mike Jones on tenor saxophone

Jamie DeRevere on drums

Katie Ford, featured vocalist

Ron McClendon on keys

Darrin Cook on upright bass

David Gastley on guitar

More Kate & Scott

As promised, here are some more photos from Kate & Scott's wedding in Virginia.

I had to show you these shoes.  The little jewels were so cute!

I love this picture!

They actually skipped down the aisle after being pronounced man and wife!

Kate still can't wipe that grin off her face.

What reception would be complete without a little Soulja Boy?

Kate & Scott

Kate and I were great friends in college, so when she got engaged she knew exactly who she wanted to photograph her wedding ... me! I drove up to Lynchburg, Virginia in July for Kate and Scott's wedding.  It was the first time I'd met Scott, but I knew instantly that they were made for one another.  They had a beautiful ceremony and quite a fabulous reception!   Here are two favorites of mine from the day. I promise another post with more photos soon!

Sylvan

Back in June my sister and nephew visited the family here on the east coast. (See this post.) I realized recently that I had promised more photos of my adorable nephew and didn't follow through. So on the premise of "better late than never" I bring you these two photos. I hope you enjoy them!

Terri & John

Terri and John are getting married at The Botanical Gardens later this month.  We went there for their engagement session and enjoyed a beautiful day.  Terri and John are sweet, down-to-earth folks - my kind of people.  There were so many cute photos to choose from that I had a hard time narrowing it down.  Here are seven of my favorites:

Jake is home!

I know this is now my fourth blog post on Jake (Jacob), but you have to admit he's adorable!
Jake made quite an early arrival into this world, so he spent almost five weeks at the hospital getting bigger and preparing for the real world (whatever that means for a newborn!)  Jake was finally able to go home with his parents last Saturday. I visited on Monday and took some more photographs. He's a beautiful baby boy and his parents - though exhausted - were glowing.
